What is Minimally invasive Jaw surgery ?

This new concept in Orthognathic surgery is based on more than 20 years of clinical experience and continuous research, education and innovation towards decreasing patient morbidity in orthognathic surgery. The goals of minimally invasive surgery are to reduce tissue trauma and to minimize bleeding, oedema, and injury, thereby improving the rate and quality of healing. The technique utilises CT guided 3D planning and Custom plates for fixation. Not all cases can be done using this approach. Evidence from available studies suggests that patients undergoing minimally invasive orthognathic surgery have less morbidity and make a faster recovery.
